Note To Parents

Dear Parents, Friends and Stakeholders of Horizon Academy Institute,

When you look at your children, do you ever think of how much you and them are blessed? Blessed, that Allah has given you these children. Blessed that the Almighty has given you the ability to take care of them. Blessed that they get to grow up privileged; and simply the Almighty advises us that:

"If ye would count up the favors of Allah, never would ye be able to number them: for Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful." The Glorious Quran (16:18)

And if it is the Almighty's wisdom to bless us, it is His decree that we would share, and verily none of what is given is not returned.

It is that time of the year, before the year's end to talk to you about why you should consider Horizon for your generous donation. Horizon Academy Institute, is a not-for-profit organization, with a charitable status # 814481420 under Revenue Canada. Our activities span from:
  • Arabic and Islamic Social Studies offered to over 320 children from pre-KG to Grade 7.
  • Leadership Development Course for teens
  • Leadership Development Course for Adults
  • Arabic classes for Adult
  • Working with CBE to introduce Arabic Bilingual program in Calgary
  • Develop a new HA website
and for 2012, our plan is to focus on the following activities:
  • Design a new database to manage HA operation
  • Work with CBE to initiate a High School Arabic Credits
  • Support effort of teaching Arabic at the provincial level.
  • Initiate a novel Quranic Study program in Calgary
  • Initiate a women Islamic class
  • Secure space for HAI office and activities
To achieve these strategic goals for our community we need your help raising $100,000K. Your help and support is truly appreciated.

1) Drop you cheque donation at the academy on Sundays from 10:00 am till 2:00 pm Address: Chinook Learning Services (CLS), 2519 Richmond Road SW, Calgary.

2) Make a pledge for a monthly automatic transfer to HAI bank account with TD Bank

4) Talk to your friends and family about HAI work.
